We are famous for our chicken salad. We make it right here to serve it in sandwiches and salads, but also package it to go for your convenience. Coffee Latte*, espresso, cappucino, and more plus home-made brownies available all day.
One visitor was heard back at his home in Knoxville talking about the "French Restaurant" someone took him to in Athens. The only thing that might be french around here might be the vinaigrette dressing* people like on our salads, but we consider our cafe being called a "French Restaurant" a real compliment. People ask about the faces painted on the wall in the kitchen and our name. They both came with the cafe when we purchased it and it's all about Gary Allen's children. The name is made up from their names and the painting is of them as well. We got them right along with the recipe for chicken salad. Everybody likes the name and the chicken salad so we are not changing either one. They are both special, just like our friends, the people who come here to eat, drink coffee and get fresh steaks to take home and grill.

My wife usually gets a sandwich at Maddi Mas. So today she was at home, dizzy from allergies, so I took her the Stuffed Peppers with Mashed Potatoes Dinner. She really liked it and was amazed when she found out that it really is made along with the Meatloaf and other dinners right in the Maddi Mas kitchen, fresh.
This place has it all! I was visiting and found Maddi Mas by advice of a friend who told me they had terrific food. When I got there I was amazed at the wide variety of items. They have under one roof a butcher shop, coffee house and bakery. Milk, bread, homemade salads, deli. All this in a sandwich shop. I had never seen anything like it. You go there, I promise you that you will want to return!

I am glad to see the extended seating. Their chicken salad is the best in town.
Smoked Pork The Wrap is my favorite, I like dipping the hot wrap into the cool barbeque sauce.
Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich & Fruit Salad on the side I'm not a big eater and I like to eat healthy so it's great to be able to get a half-sandwich and fruit salad. But when I'm really hungry the Grilled Chicken and Baby Spinach Salad fills me right up.
